The Coish Walk
At the time the Town’s tourism Committee had a stated goal of having a walkway around the entire perimeter of the Coish. Utilizing Conservation Corps grants in 1996 and 1997, and a Waste Management Fund grant in 2000, the Society was able to clean up the shoreline from the Klondyke Causeway to Country Brook and develop a shoreline walkway. With assistance from the Town and David Powell, a bridge was constructed over the Brook. Truckloads of garbage, including a motor vehicle engine, were removed. If nothing else, it was an environmental success.
